Do you need help with food?

You have come to the right place. We are here to help you. All you have to do is come into Angels Community Group (Angels Mini Mart) and ask a staff member for an emergency hamper. If you live in Chiders, Gin Gin or Rosedale we can help you too here.

The process is really quick and simple, they will ask you a few questions, your name, number home address if you have one and how many people that need assistance. We will need to sight your photo ID upon registering for a hamper. After they have that information they will make you a suitable hamper and you are good to go. Its that quick and easy. No shame, no invasive questions, just a helping hand. You cannot receive a hamper more than once a fortnight.

We don’t have hoops you have to jump through to receive help, but it is based on a honesty and trust system. There is no need to show proof of income, but please don’t abuse the system. All hampers are made from donations only and no government funding. Below are some answers to frequently asked questions.

Do I need to call ahead, before coming in? Or make an appointment?

Absolutely not, just come in during our operating hours and we can help you. No need to make an appointment or call ahead.

Who do we help?

Anyone that needs it, who asks respectfully. We don’t judge you by the car you drive, the clothes you wear, or the way you speak. Just be respectful and patient and we are happy to help you.

I live in Childers, Rosedale or Gin Gin can I get help?

Of course you can, we deliver to a central drop off point to each one of those towns once a week. For more information and to apply for a hamper click here.

When are you open?

We are open Monday-Friday, 8am-5:30pm. Saturday 9am-2pm. We are closed Sundays and public holidays.

What do I need to bring with me?

A photo ID with your current address as well as a medicare or pension card if you have children requiring food assistance with their names on the card.

We supply a box or bag for the food, but if you have a reusable shopping bag you could bring that in for us to place your food in.

Where are you located?

We are located at 45a Walla Street Bundaberg. The front of our building has Second 2 None and Angels Mini Mart signage. Come into the store, walk up the stairs to the grocery store and we ask one of the staff members for an emergency hamper.

What does a hamper have in it?

Every hamper is different because everyone’s needs are different. Depending on how many family members there are, what access you have to cooking facilities and what food we have at the time. Generally we try to supply food for two days for however many people there are and basic toiletries if needed.
