Building Skills, Confidence and Pathways to Work

At Angels Community Group, we believe that short-term support matters — but long-term opportunity matters just as much. Our Training & Employment programs are designed to help people build skills, confidence, and real work experience that leads to meaningful employment.

Why Training & Employment Matters

Many people in our community face barriers to work, whether it’s limited experience, confidence, time out of the workforce, or lack of opportunity. While emergency support can help in the moment, lasting change comes from access to skills, purpose, and stable income.

That’s why Training & Employment sits at the heart of what we do.

How Our ProgramS Works

Our Training & Employment programs combine hands-on work experience with skill development in a supportive, real-world environment. Participants learn by doing — gaining practical experience while being supported by our team every step of the way.

Training opportunities change throughout the year depending on funding and program availability, but all programs are designed to support people back into the workforce with confidence.

Real Work, Real Experience

Trainees gain experience across Angels’ social enterprises, including:

  • Angels Mini Mart

  • Angels Café

  • Second 2 None

  • warehousing and stock handling

  • customer service and retail operations

This variety allows participants to build transferable skills and discover what type of work suits them best.

Our Goal: Employment Beyond Angels

Our aim isn’t just training — it’s outcomes.
We support participants to prepare for life beyond their placement, with the goal of moving into long-term employment when they finish their program.

Many of our trainees go on to secure ongoing work, apprenticeships, or further training — a result we’re incredibly proud of.

How to Get Involved

Training & Employment opportunities open at different times throughout the year. When positions are available, we invite interested community members to express their interest in person.

To find out more or register your interest, visit us at 66 Targo Street or keep an eye on our social media channels for upcoming opportunities.

Our Training & Employment programs are powered by our social enterprises. Every grocery scanned, coffee made, shelf stocked, or item sorted helps build confidence, skills, and pathways to work — while also supporting Angels’ broader community programs.
